Probably one of the least expensive meteorite examples available.
The Nantan meteorite is an iron meteorite that belongs to the IAB group. The fall of the meteorite might have been observed in 1516 but it was not found till 1958. The fragments were originally gathered for smelting to make metal for the growing industrialization of China but it was discovered that the pieces contained too much nickle.
The total mass of this fall is estimated at 9.5 tons.
