Brachinites are a group of meteorites that are classified either as primitive achondrites or as asteroidal achondrites. Like all primitive achondrites, they have similarities with chondrites and achondrites. Brachinites contain 74 to 98%, by volume, olivine. Reid 013 is composed primarily of olivine (<90 vol%) forming 120° triple junctions, minor clinopyroxene (~6 vol%) and chromite (~1 vol%), along with trace amounts of orthopyroxene, FeNi-metal, and sulfides (Hasegawa and Mikouchi, 2016).
