Cobaltoan Dolomite is a Cobalt bearing Dolomite. A large number of Cobaltoan Calcite specimens are actually Dolomite.

Dolomite is an anhydrous carbonate mineral composed of calcium magnesium carbonate and is often white, grey, pink, tan and colorless. The term dolomite is also often used for a sedimentary carbonate rock composed mostly of the mineral dolomite. Dolomite is used as a source of magnesia (a feed additive for livestock), an ingredient in the production of glass, bricks, and ceramics as well as a flux in metal processing.
