Tourmaline is a group of silicate minerals in which boron is compounded with elements such as aluminum, iron, magnesium, sodium, lithium, or potassium. This gemstone comes in a wide variety of colors. There are 11 different species, depending on their chemical composition and properties.  Tourmaline is one of the Birthstones for the month of October.
