This Amethyst also goes by the names of “Cactus” or “Spirit” Quartz. This nice single-point specimen has a nice light purple color. I was fortunate to be able to acquire a large number of pieces at a reasonable price and am passing the savings along to you.

Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz and is the most popular purple gem and is also February’s Birthstone. Amethyst has been used for gemstones for thousands of years. Amethyst crystals do not get very large, crystals longer than 30cm are very rare with most being stubby or even occurring in veins.
