Location: Beineu-Kyr, Tuarkyr Mountains, Geok Tepe, Ahal Province, Turkmenistan

This location produced mostly geodes with blue celestite crystals on red celestite (colored by hematite inclusions). a VERY UNCOMMON locality. Very few of these came out in the early 1990’s and are very tough to find for sale. Very different from the Celestite from Madagascar.
Celestite or Celestine is a mineral consisting of strontium sulfate. The mineral is named for its light sky blue color. Celestine and the carbonate mineral strontianite are the principal sources of the element strontium, commonly used in fireworks and in various metal alloys.
