Earth’s Hidden Treasures® is a mineral, fossil and meteorite business that began in 1994, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. It grew out of a passion to collect rocks, minerals and fossils - ‘hidden treasures’ - that nature has produced in an amazing array of formations, colors, shapes and sizes. When we moved to Illinois in 2002, our business came with us. We continuously seek out the most reasonably priced, quality specimens for our customers. We participate annually as vendors in several Rock and Gem shows in Georgia and Tennessee and now offer our quality specimens for sale online as we have time. We have over 100,000 specimens, most priced under $50.

The Ruby crystals in Fuchsite makes a great contrast in normal light . The rubies also fluoresce a bright red under Long Wave UV light.

Ruby is a pinkish red to deep-red colored gemstone. It is a variety of the mineral corundum (aluminum oxide) and is very hard (Mohs 9). Ruby is a very popular traditional jewelry gems and is very durable. Other colors of gem-quality corundum are called sapphires.

Fuchsite is a green variety of muscovite mica that often sparkles when the light hits it. Its green color is caused by small amounts of chromium.
