Purpurite - Colorado
Purpurite - Colorado
Purpurite is a rare, purple phosphate secondary mineral formed by oxidation of iron and or manganese with the simultaneous leaching of lithium. Dirty yellow to greenish-black crusts of Alluaudite are also scattered about. When I met the miner I bought all of the smaller specimens that he collected that year.
