I had never seen pieces this big until I imported 20 kilos of this material from Africa. This is a very rich piece that goes through the entire piece and weighs just under 3/4 of a pound! It will have a metallic like sheen if the light hits it right. This is a great piece.

Purpurite is a rare, purple phosphate secondary mineral formed by oxidation of iron and or manganese with the simultaneous leaching of lithium. Dirty yellow to greenish-black crusts of Alluaudite are also scattered about.
