Size: 1.5 × 1.11 x 0.91 inches

Libyan desert glass is the name given to fragments of canary-yellow glass found scattered over hundreds of kilometers, between giant shifting sand dunes. We have heard that the Egyptian government has stopped the hunting and export of Libyan Desert Glass. Libyan Desert Glass was used in ancient times as a gem stone for the Pharaohs and is a highly prized impact glass for collectors. This is a very high quality piece that is ~21 grams.

Tektites are most likely derived by large hypervelocity meteorite collisions with the crust of the earth. They are often rounded, pitted bodies of silicate glass. While commonly about the size of a walnut, tektites can vary from the size of a sand grain up to large, blocky, Muong Nong-type specimens weighing up to (28 pounds). Tektites can differ in both color and age, depending on where they are found. Commonly black color, tektites can also vary from light green to greenish yellow.
