Adamite is a zinc arsenate hydroxide mineral that usually occurs in the weathered area above zinc ore. Pure Adamite is colorless but it is often green or yellow due to copper or iron in the mineral structure. The Ojuela Mine, where Adamite was initially found, is famous for the amount of Adamite and thereby keeping the cost of this much desired mineral reasonable. The Adamite that fluoresces is the most desirable as it can be a very bright green under long wave light.
