The variety Andradite, although not as well-known as some of the other “garnets” is found in skarns from contact metamorphosed impure limestones or calcic igneous rocks; in chlorite schists and serpentinites and in alkalic igneous rocks. It is usually, Brown, reddish-brown, bronze, orange, yellow, green, brownish-green, gray, or black in color.
