Goosecreekite - India
Goosecreekite - India
Location: Nashik District, Maharashtra, India
Size: 1.49 x 1.48 x 0.96 inches
Here is a small miniature sized piece of a very uncommon mineral that you don’t see everyday. I try to purchase any of these if the price is right and this one is underpriced for its rarity. Here is your chance to own an affordable specimen of this rare mineral. This piece only has one minor area of attachment where the small Heulandite crystals can be seen in the picture. This piece would make a great addition to any collection and at this price it can’t be beat! If it was bigger it would be in my collection.
Goosecreekite is a rare and coveted member of the zeolite group. It is a relatively new mineral, only being recognized by the IMA as a distinct mineral species in 1980. Goosecreekite is named after its type locality at the New Goose Creek Quarry in Leesburg, Virginia. Most of the specimens for sale come from India.
